The 2011 dictionary is only a first edition of our dictionary, and there is a lot missing and a lot has evolved since then.  The first edition of the dictionary was the first step to publicly document Squamish language for our people to use. Languages are meant to be alive,grow and evolve. The first growth spurt was the talking dictionary. Many hours were put into the idea and there are many more to put into the dictionary to be accessible with audio. Since the launch of our first edition dictionary, we have lost all our First Language speakers so a lot of the audio we have in our archives or in the talking dictionary is precious to capture their voices.
